Hezekiah Jones
Well, the newest release on Yer Bird is finally here: Philadelphia’s Hezekiah Jones‘ Hezekiah Says You’re A-Ok.’ It’s a really great record, if I do say so myself, and I think it’ll be right up the alleys of you regular readers of this here blog. To my ears it’s got a lot of Iron & Wine-pretty mixed with a good amount of Will Oldham-oddity; always a good thing in my book. There’s more than a hint of some of the cracked brillance of the White Album (at least this version). Some of the early press has compared his songs to Ray Davies from the Kinks, which didn’t cross my mind earlier, but now seems spot on. Please do check it out, and if you enjoy the tracks, please pick up a copy as it is both awesome and would certainly help out with covering the bandwidth for this site! Thanks!:
